“Protect Our Children from Toxic Pesticides”

Pesticide Action Network Asia Pacific (PAN AP) is pleased to invite children between the ages of 5 –
12 years to participate in a poster art competition with the theme “Protect Our Children from Toxic
Pesticides”. The aim of the poster art competition is to get young children to think about the toxic
effects of pesticides, their widespread use in daily life and to visualise a world without harmful
pesticides, using art as the media to convey their vision.
Theme: “Protect Our Children from Toxic Pesticides”.
Dates: 1 September – 15 October 2014
Ages: Children between ages of 5 – 12 years
Categories:
(1) Children between ages 5 – 7 years
(2) Children between ages 8– 12 years.
Poster size: A3 420 mm x 297mm Art paper
Colouring tools: Free choice of any colouring tools including crayons, colour pencils, colour pens,
poster paint, gel paint.
Prizes and Award Ceremony
Top 30 winners will be awarded gift vouchers worth RM100 redeemable at Borders and MPH
Bookstores, Malaysia. From the top 30, PAN AP will pick 12 artworks for its 2015 Annual Calendar.
These 12 winners will be invited to an award ceremony on 1 November 2014, in conjunction with
Children’s Day Malaysia, at Nazlina Spice Station, 2 Campbell Street, Penang. PAN AP will only cover
the transportation costs of those winners who are out-of-state in Malaysia. The 2015 PAN AP
Annual Calendar will be launched at the award ceremony.

Entries must be accompanied by full name, age, postal address, email/telephone contacts and
name, address and telephone contact of school. Schools may collectively submit student entries.
Please use poster canisters for mailing to minimise damage.
